There is no green grass to be seen, but the eucalypt trees are still green.
Then several day ago the clouds rolled in and a storm looked promising.
It did not rain.

Powered by Photoblog.com

The Ticket box and entry area and the gate.
These images were taken around midday. At night it is 2 dark and the multitude of people make for very blurred images.
This yeaqr fringe has been very successful and they are promising an even bigger even for next year.
It has got bigger every year for the last 50 years. How big can it get.

Powered by Photoblog.com

At the same time a Fringe festival started to cater for the artist that did not meet the main stream act that the festival catered for.
The festival has been held every 2 year but the fringe festival has been a yearly event.
Each year it has got bigger and longer.
It is drawing to a close soon.

Recently the Adelaide Zoo opened a new Entrance to coincide with the arrival of the Panda's from China.
This was the entrance to the Zoo for approximately the last 100 year.
This image was take just prior to the entrance closing.
In the next few post I will post images of some of the zoo residents including the panda's.

Powered by Photoblog.com

It was this river and the flat plain that attracted the early settlers.
Over the year the river was dammed upstream to provide water and now only flow with run off from the street or surrounding suburbs. Many near ago a weir was erected across the river near the city centre and a lake formed.
This lake, and its fountain is depicted in this picture.
The white roof you can see just beyond the river is the Festival Centre and the some of the tall building in the back ground

Powered by Photoblog.com

This is the usual view travelers on the left hand side of an aircraft get when landing at Adelaide Airport.
But seldom are the aircraft windows clean enough to get a clear image.
This image shows the one of the features of Adelaide.
The parklands that encase the central business district.
